HIANDRI is Building Code Compliant, the Certificate of Conformity (CodeMark) means that all Building Consent Authorities must accept the certification as evidence of Building Code Compliance as long as the product is used in accordance with the Certificate and its Installation Manuals. Having the CodeMark means HIANDRI packers become an acceptable solution. Refer to our FAQ’s.
To specify and use HIANDRI packers on your job, simply download the CodeMark Certificate and the Installation Manual then include them with your consent specifications. On your working drawings you should also note HIANDRI Packers to any detail referencing the bottom plate/floor connection. Remembering you do not require DPC as you are using HIANDRI Packers.
If your job is already consented you will have to fill out an amendment application and submit the CodeMark Certificate and Installation Manual.

When using your selected bracing system you must follow the installation instructions for that system.
To specify and use HIANDRI bottom plate packers is a simple process that has minimal changes to the way we currently build. The following is a simple summary of those changes:
- Studs are all 12mm shorter.
- For concrete floors, the fixings used to hold down bottom plates (fitted with HIANDRI packers) are exactly the same. They are however longer and you must use 135mm or 140mm long anchors and 90mm long Drive pins. For timber floors you must use a single type 17 125mm 14 gauge bugle head screw instead of 90mm hand or power driven nails.
- All fixing centres and locations should be as NZS 3604:2011 and its amendments.
